HITAP organized a workshop on network meta-analysis (NMA) in Indonesia, led by Dr. Thunyarat Anothaisintawee, an expert in NMA from Mahidol University. The objective of this workshop was to support Indonesian teams and to provide an overview of NMA. Dr. Thunyarat used real-world examples to introduce key concepts, assumptions, and methods in network meta-analysis, including data display and demonstrated its implementation in STATA.
Two teams from Universitas Indonesia (UI) & University of Gadjah Mada (UGM) are investigating the cost-effectiveness of two high-priced drugs – cetuximab and bevacizumab. Both teams require NMA to compare cetuximab/bevacizumab with a common comparator. NMA is crucial for these studies to obtain standardized results using the most scientific method.
The participants attending the workshop have a diverse range of backgrounds, including medical practitioners, economists, pharmacists, and academics. This workshop is funded by international Decision Support Initiative (iDSI).
