Extensive engagement to institutionalise HTA as a supporting tool to access to health technology and interventions, SAPPHIRE witnessed the advancement of partner countries to enable universal health coverage, to set up HTA national units, and to move towards more efficient and equitable health systems.

The existing health service research conducted in the region demands more systematic and reliable strategies. SAPPHIRE plays a vital role in bringing together strong multidisciplinary expertise to deliver high-quality research to address regional health systems issues.

Availability and access to HTA tools and resources are concentrated on government , researcher and public. To have global and regional public goods could be one way to make these important resources more accessible and committed to the larger impacts in other regions.
