HTA Workshop and Conference in Chandigarh, India
iDSI theme: Strengthening Health Systems and Institutions

The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India, hosted two HTA events in February 2018 in collaboration with partners, including the International Decision Support Initiative (iDSI). On 19-23 February, 2018, a workshop on conducting HTA titled the “7th International Fellowship on Health Technology Assessment” was held. It was followed by the “2nd National Conference on Health Technology Assessment” on 24-25 February, 2018, which brought together several experts and practitioners on HTA from India and abroad.

HITAP staff supported an exercise on incorporating equity in priority setting decisions on the last day of the workshop. During the two-day conference, HITAP staff presented on the following topics: the role of HTA for universal health coverage in Thailand, a study on the methodological issues faced by researchers in conducting HTA in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) and the results of a survey conducted to understand the application of HTA in India. HITAP also showcased the Guide to Economic Analysis and Research (GEAR) in the exhibition area and encouraged participants to use the online resource to conduct economic evaluations.
