The Access and Delivery Partnership (ADP) and the Health Intervention Technology Assessment Program (HITAP), Ministry of Public Health, Thailand, present you our latest animation demonstrating the utilisation of evidence in healthcare decision-making to achieve efficient, equitable, and sustainable outcomes.

The animation, using a case study of using health technology assessment (HTA) to guide the policy decision on national provision of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) treatment in Thailand, takes you through the three stages of evidence use to inform health policy:

i. prioritisation of healthcare technologies,
ii. procurement and price negotiation of these technologies, and
iii. monitoring and evaluation of outcomes and service delivery.

We hope you are able to gain new perspectives from our video, establish similarities in your own context, and recognise the importance of the feedback loop between evidence use in every stage of health decision-making in your own contexts. We would also request you to spread the learning and share the animation with your networks. We are always looking to expand our horizons and would love to hear any new thoughts or ideas you would like to share with us.

In the meanwhile, if you are keen to know more about treatment options for ESRD in the Asian context, here are some other HTA studies:
